The IISS Shangri-La Dialogue is Asia’s premier defence summit. It’s a unique meeting where ministers debate the region’s most pressing security challenges, engage in important bilateral talks and come up with fresh approaches together. This annual event takes place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore.
In its 20th iteration, the Shangri-La Dialogue is scheduled from June 2nd to June 4th 2023. Of particular interest is the eagerly anticipated meeting between the defence chiefs of the United States and China. The US Defense Secretary Lyold Austin had invited Chinese counterpart Li Shangfu to meet on the sidelines, but China declined. On June 2nd, Austin and Li spoke briefly during the opening dinner.
Blaz Protection System and Precision Fabricators take great pride in contributing to the security of this momentous occasion. Over the years, we have consistently provided cutting-edge solutions for hostile vehicle mitigation at the Shangri-La Dialogue.
Our mobile crash barrier (MCB II), rigorously tested for crash scenarios, has been deployed at the venue to ensure the safety of dignitaries and participants. The MCB II is ideally suited for swift event deployment, enabling the establishment of roadblocks while allowing vehicles to pass through when necessary.
Additionally, we have also deployed our HVM Blocks for enhanced protection. HVM blocks are crash tested to provide maximum protection to people and assets during major events. It comes in different configuration to cater to different ground condition and terrain.
These two products, when combined, offer extensive hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) protection for this significant occasion.
